美国学者E.W. Dolch在二次世界大战之前,针对儿童读物作了分析与统计后,整理出最常使用的220个高频词,分成五个级别,这220个字被称为 Dolch sight words, 是英语世界儿童阅读初期最为重要的词汇表,要求孩子能整体记忆,见词能读。
这些词汇也是儿童日常生活中,以及儿童绘本、儿童歌谣和儿童动画中反复出现的单词。如果家长对孩子进行过多种形式的听力输入,孩子在听力阶段会大量接触这些词汇,形成听力词汇的一部分。当孩子开始进入阅读阶段时,只要稍加训练,便可以掌握这些sight words。
